     Laurie and Jim Young are uniquely qualified to lead this center together. They each bring strengths to the organization that augments the strengths of the other. They have been partners in life for the last 33 years and partners in business as well. In addition to raising three children (now fully grown) and making 9 corporate moves, they have engaged in several entrepreneurial activities both together and individually.

Jim spent 30 years in Corporate America where he held many different positions in technical support, customer service, and middle management. His last assignment before retiring was as an expert in personal and organizational change and as a coach/mentor to the executives leading the change efforts.

Laurie started her career on Wall Street then Jim and Laurie moved their family to North Carolina in 1971, where Laurie operated a daycare center for several years.  Many self employments over the next 20 years led to Pinwheel Studios, a custom oil portrait studio that ended in 1999 when Laurie started ministerial class.

Jim and Laurie have both been part of the Durham, NC Religious Science Church since the early 1990’s. They have held almost every position there is in the church, including serving on the board. In addition, Jim was the interim speaker and teacher for 5 months when that church was in-between pastors.

They have been taking accredited as well as non-accredited Science of Mind Classes since 1991. They are both licensed practitioners of Religious Science and in July of 2001 they successfully completed all requirements of the ministerial training curriculum.

Jim and Laurie combine their love for the Science of Mind® teaching with their ability to get things done by building an organization that helps people to help themselves.
